Business Licensing Program
The Business License Program is part of the Village’s proactive code enforcement efforts. Its purpose is to help insure Round Lake Beach is a safe and attractive place to shop for goods & services and to conduct business. New businesses work with the Director of Inspections to obtain a business license as part of the process of establishing a business. The annual renewal process consists of 4-steps as noted below. Please be aware that there are additional specialized guidelines for ice cream vendors, pawn brokers and secondhand goods dealers.
1. Submission of renewal form to provide updated information
2. Payment of an annual fee
3. An inspection to assure compliance with all property maintenance codes
4. Resolution of outstanding issues such as unpaid bills

Timeframes & Deadlines
Due March 29: Renewal forms, fees & unpaid invoices
Due June 28: Compliance with all building codes
Personalized renewal packets are mailed to each business mid-February. The renewal form, license fee and any outstanding invoices are due by March 29. Initial inspections will begin April 1 and take about 6 weeks. Re-inspections to insure identified violations are corrected will occur in May and June. Complete compliance with all building and property maintenance codes is due by June 28. Businesses that neglect to meet all requirements by deadline will be scheduled for an Adjudication Hearing. Please note that the Village makes every effort to assist businesses in order to avoid adjudication.
